Luck of the Irish

Life has been pretty busy lately and, with Easter approaching, the next few weeks are going to be even busier. However, let's forget about work for a moment because . . . IT'S ST. PATRICK'S DAY!! All of our Irish friends will be partying and celebrating, how about you?

According to St Patricks Day.com, "Saint Patrick is the patron saint and national apostle of Ireland. St Patrick is credited with bringing christianity to Ireland. Most of what is known about him comes from his two works; the Confessio, a spiritual autobiography, and his Epistola, a denunciation of British mistreatment of Irish Christians." It's been only in this past decade that we actually learned a bit about this, as back in Italy it was only an excuse for some people to go out and drink. Personally, we love to learn what's behind a particular event and that is why we found the link above really interesting.

Surely, when it comes to this festive day we can't help but think of green and gold, shamrocks, luck, the Irish flag painted on people's faces/cheeks, lots of celebrations and parades. Definitely an exciting time, and one that puts a smile on our faces by only thinking about it. :)

How do you celebrate St. Patrick's Day? Do you have any anecdotes to share?
